chocolate jalapeno cupcake

this cupcake is at once sweet, hot and delicious! the very chocolate cake is speckled with diced jalapeno pepper which gives jolts of hot goodness and enhances the cocoa flavors. the vanilla buttercream works to soothe the heat from the peppers and makes the cupcake a great way to enjoy jalapeno peppers in a sweet new way!

tomato masala walnut with cream cheese icing

this cupcake is made with a tomato base and includes walnuts and garam masala, it is so SO delicious! it easily blurs the line between savory and sweet flavors as it accomplishes both without compromising one over the other. topped with a cream cheese icing and garam masala powder, this cupcake is an instant favorite especially for those who are not avid sweet enthusiasts!

vanilla with lemon-avocado icing

this light vanilla cake is topped with a sweet lemon-avocado icing and garnished with lemon zest. this unexpected citrus icing is definitely reminiscent of spring and summery as the freshness is so sweet and picnic ready!

hot ginger with creamy vanilla icing

this cupcake really captures the essence of ginger! the cake is moist yet dense with a sweet start and a hot finish. the heat is cooled with a nice vanilla icing, sprinkled with ground ginger on top. a great treat for those with a taste for ginger!

chocolate with strawbery buttercream

chocolate covered strawberries were always my treat of choice growing up so this cupcake became an instant favorite upon first taste! the cake itself is very chocolatey and is covered with a nice thick layer of scrumptious strawberry buttercream. the strawberry flavoring comes from whole fruit preserves which gives it that 'just bit into a berry' flavor.

peanut buttercup... cupcake

these are so tasty, like biting into a giant cakey peanut butter cup! they have just the right amount of peanut butter so that they aren't too heavy. the chocolate cake is moist and a great complement to the peanut butter buttercream, a delicious classic combination!

yellow cake with rum buttercream and candied pecans

yum! these are my favorite new cupcakes, so so good! yellow cake base with dark rum icing and candied pecans, they're better than a full-on rum cake. the first bite is the best, right into the center there's the moist cake, sweet rum icing and crunchy cinnamon pecans!
seriously, what could be better?

chocolate cupcakes with raspberry buttercream

these are a new spring treat! the raspberry buttercream icing is so light and creamy it really just adds a nice aftertaste to the moist chocolate cake. the raspberry adds a nice dimension to the cake without overtaking the cupcake's flavor, very tasty!

purple velvet cupcakes with cream cheese icing

these are quite moist and delicious, made from a recipe i acquired from a lady from alabama. i didn't have an adequate amount of red food coloring so i decided to try something different and make them purple. i kinda like the new shade on an old favorite, and honestly they are just as tasty as purple cupcakes as they are as red cupcakes.

*update: my mom thinks they should be called "purple haze"

all-spice cupcakes with pumpkin icing

strawberry sugar bites

these sugar dollar cookies are made with strawberry butter and have a melt-in-your-mouth consistency. very tasty for a quick snack, i think they are best when chased with some cool chocolate milk!

s'more cupcakes

fudge cake, graham crackers and fire toasted marshmallows

these were made for the brooklyn cupcake cookoff a few weeks back, unfortunately i was given the incorrect registration time and was thus unable to compete. but no worries! it was very nice to walk around the crowd and pass them out to other cupcake enthusiasts. there were several tasty cupcakes there and i was proud to be in the presence of so many other cupcake-bakers!
